Rifle and Pistol Range Rules and Regulations
- Do not use the range if it is closed or the Range Safety Officer is not present on the firing range.
- Always keep the muzzle pointed up or down range when on the firing line direction.
- keep your firearms unloaded when not in use.
- Use correct ammunition for firearms. Target ammunition only.
- Know how to use and handle your firearm safely.
- Protective safety glasses and hearing protection are encouraged but not required when on the firing range.
- Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
- Unload and case firearms before leaving the range.
- No alcohol is allowed on the range complex.
- No more than two people are on a firing point when the range is hot.
- No horse play or disrupting other shooters on the firing line or in the ready zone.
- An adult must accompany the youth on the firing line.
- Always follow the Range Officer’s commands or leave the range.
- Anyone who sees an unsafe act can call for a CEASE FIRE on the range.
- Rifle calibers of 5.56/223 up to 7.62/308 are the only calibers allowed to fire at steel targets no closer than 100 yards. Larger calibers must use paper targets at all ranges.
